If you haven’t been riding the last 4 weeks it’s possible that you have missed the best riding weather of the year. The last time Seattle had a dry spell this long was way back in 1982. While the dry spell might be coming to an end, forecasters are calling for a chance of showers Tuesday night and Wednesday, this weekend looks to be another good one.
I will be off on a two day loop of the Olympic Peninsula with a few other riders. I hope that you are able to get out and enjoy the weather, however long it may last.
And don’t forget, Sunday is Father’s Day!
Twitter is all the rage and now you can follow MotoSkagit on Twitter. Click the icon on the left or visit http://www.twitter.com/MotoSkagit and follow me for the latest motorcycle-related info for Skagit County.
Two great weekends in a row… might we get spoiled? I don’t think so. With the great weather forecast for the weekend, you won’t need much of an excuse to get out and ride. But just in case, allow me to recommend the 2nd Annual Jim Schermerhorn Poker Ride organized by Star Chapter 154 in Burlington. This event benefits the family of Jim Schermerhorn, a local rider who passed away a few years ago leaving behind a wife and two young sons.
This event, which begins and ends at Skagit Powersports, is being held in conjunction with SP’s annual open house and new-for-this-year film festival. Rider-entered videos will be on display and judged with winners receiving prizes including new motorcycles. SP always hosts a great event and I am sure this year will be no exception.
Wherever you ride this weekend, stay hydrated and be careful out there.
